'Investment in the Future' Charitable Foundation Shared Successful Practices of Building Personality-Oriented Education Environment with Foreign Colleagues

On 16 through 20 November 2023, International Round Table 'From Impact to Facilitation: Contemporary Trends in Personality-Oriented Transforming Education. Education Environment and Educator's Role' was held in Kazakhstan. The 'Investment in the Future' Charitable Foundation, the Institute of Early Childhood Development of the Kazakhstan Republic, and the J. Balasagyn Kyrgyz National University were the partners of the event, in which representatives of four countries: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Belarus, participated.

The Round Table events were held in three Kazakhstan cities with the support of local educational institutions. In Kostanay, the event was organized by the Akhmet Baitursynuly Kostanay Regional University, in Astana, by the National Academy of Education named after Y. Altynsarin of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and in Pavlodar, by the Alkey Margulan Pavlodar Pedagogical Unversity. The UNESCO Regional Office, the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, participated in organizing the events.

Round Table Goals

  • Foster international collaboration among scientists, decision-makers, and practitioners aimed at the development of education in the sphere of personality development, psychological well-being and health of children and adolescents;
  • Promote research and innovation in the sphere of pedagogical education, exchange experience for the purposes of improving the educational process at the international level;
  • Support cross-institutional cooperation in the area of quality of professional training of teachers and education professionals.

The discussions at the 'From Impact to Facilitation: Contemporary Trends in Personality-Oriented Transforming Education. Education Environment and Educator's Role' Round Table were centered around 3 major topics:

  1. Educational practices for personality development, well-being and health of children in kindergartens and schools;
  2. Building of an education environment in which the relationship culture, teaching practices and organization of space are conducive to the well-being, health and personality development of children and adults;
  3. Technologies of psychological/educational competency development and support of the educator's emotional resilience relying on intrinsic resources of self-regulation, productive motivation and vitality.

The international event was attended by specialists from the Kazakhstan National Academy of Education named after Y. Altynsarin, representatives of pre-school and secondary education institutions, higher education establishments, research organizations and governance bodies of the education industry and educational institutions from Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, and Belarus.

The 'Investment in the Future' Charitable Foundation was represented by a delegation headed by the Foundation's Executive Director Peter Polozhevets. The Foundation team held several workshops and training sessions aimed at building an education environment for personality development in school, engagement of the parents audience in a dialog with school, personality development and professional development of teachers, and at building professional self-training communities inside teachers' teams.

Mobile exhibitions of educational solutions offered by the 'Investment in the Future' Charitable Foundation for children of 5 to 18 years of age, managers and faculty members of educational institutions were deployed at all event sites and aroused live interest among participants.
