How the educational environment and curricula contribute to learners’ personality development, health, and well-being

This brief was prepared as part of international initiative Empowering through Education for Health and Well-being in a Learning Environment That Fosters Personality Development, which aims to advance teachers’ professional development. The initiative is implemented jointly by the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education and the Investment in the Future Charitable Foundation in countries of Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

This publication is the first in a series of briefs by UNESCO IITE dedicated to education for health, well-being, and personality development.

This brief examines several programmes that prioritise different aspects of promoting health, psychosocial well-being, and the development of learners’ personality potential. The description and analysis of such programmes may be of interest to school administrators and specialists at the national, regional, and local levels, as well as to teachers and principals seeking to transform education in response to modern challenges.
