Expanding the international cooperation: the Foundation's visit to Turkmenistan

As part of the international cooperation development of the Investment in the Future Charitable Foundation programmes, the Foundation's delegation visited Turkmenistan. The visit took place with the support of the Ministry of Education of Turkmenistan and was aimed at discussing cooperation between the Foundation, the Ministry, and the National Institute of Education.

During the visit, presentations of the Foundation's "Developing Environment" and "Digital Skills and Competencies" Programmes were held, as well as a presentation of the Global Competition on Design for Futures. The Foundation acts as the organizer of the Regional Phase. The Competition itself is organized by Beijing Normal University in partnership with UNESCO IITE, leading international organizations, academic institutions, and technology companies. The Competition is aimed at students of higher education institutions: specialty, master's, bachelor's, and postgraduate (including PhD students) from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan and is dedicated to the application of artificial intelligence in education, science, and social issues. Participants of the project will have the opportunity to explore, design, and shape a sustainable future through technology, collaborative creativity, and cooperation, to anticipate future trends, solve complex problems, and bring forward-thinking concepts to life. The presentations were attended by representatives of Turkmenistan universities, the country's academic community, university staff responsible for international cooperation and strategic communications, and students.

The presentations were held at the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan—for university administrative staff and specialized experts, and at the International University for the Humanities and Development — for students of all academic levels from across the country.

The following institutions also joined online:

  1. State Energy Institute of Turkmenistan
  2. Turkmen State Institute of Economics and Management
  3. Turkmen State Medical University named after Myrat Garryev
  4. Yagshigeldi Kakayev International University of Oil and Gas
  5. Turkmen Agricultural University named after S.A.Niyazov
  6. Magtymguly Turkmen State University
  7. Institute of Engineering, Technical and Transport Communications of Turkmenistan

During the meetings, the delegation not only presented projects and programmes but also discussed formats for Turkmenistan’s participation in the Foundation’s initiatives, exchanged contact information, and addressed questions from the audience. The events took place in a friendly atmosphere and were met with significant interest from the host side.

The visit has established a solid foundation for a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership. In the near future, the Foundation will initiate joint events with representatives from Turkmenistan to broaden cooperation in developing projects on personality potential, 21st-century skills, and new literacies among youth and educators.
