The Methodological Seminar of the University Consortium "Personality Potential Development in Education" has started in Yekaterinburg

On November 19, 2025, on the Day of the Higher School Teacher, a Methodological Seminar of the University Consortium "Personality Potential Development in Education" started in Yekaterinburg.

The event, which takes place from November 18 to 21, is timed to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the University Consortium and serves as a platform for an annual meeting and joint planning of promising research activities. The organizers are the Investment in the Future Charitable Foundation, Ural State Pedagogical University, and the University Consortium.

Key figures of the educational community addressed the participants with welcoming words:

  • Elena Kazakova — Chairwoman of the Russian Federal Educational and Methodological Association of Higher Education in the field of higher pedagogical education, Director of the Institute of Pedagogy at St. Petersburg State University, Scientific Director of the Center for the Development of Pedagogical Education at the Russian Academy of Education, Academician of the Russian Academy of Education, and Chairwoman of the University Consortium Council;
  • Yuri Biktuganov — Acting Rector of the Ural State Pedagogical University;
  • Peter Polozhevets — Executive Director of the Investment in the Future Charitable Foundation, Member of the Council for Guardianship in the Social Sphere under the Government of the Russian Federation, and Honorary Worker of General Education of the Russian Federation.

Olga Petrova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, also addressed the audience with a video message.

The Consortium "Personality Potential Development in Education" was established on July 20, 2020, with the support of the Investment in the Future Charitable Foundation by leading universities implementing teacher education programs in Russia. Today, it unites 25 universities from Russia and Kyrgyzstan, where over 295,000 students of all forms of education study and more than 16,000 teachers work. The flagship project of the Consortium is the Master's degree program "Personality Potential Development in Education: Personalization and Digitalization".

Within the framework of the Seminar, the Investment in the Future Charitable Foundation presented its latest developments in the field of personality potential development, the use of artificial intelligence, and evidence-based education. The event was attended by representatives of 20 universities of the Consortium, as well as guests from Russia, Kazakhstan, and Kyrgyzstan.

Main topics of discussion:

  1. Context of the AI application and its use in teacher training;
  2. Development of Master's degree programs in the updated higher education system;
  3. Formation of research competencies among students and teachers; networking between universities and community members.

As a result of the Seminar, it is planned to launch a number of Consortium networking projects, as well as the development of new educational materials for the Master's program on the use of digital technologies and evidence-based education.
